This was a very interesting unit because it delved deeper into pronunciation and covered phonology. I have learned a lot about how sounds are produced and what parts of the tongue must touch what parts of the mouth or teeth to make certain sounds. Showing students diagrams as well as using my own mouth can help students understand how to produce certain sounds because they will see what they need to do with their own mouths to accomplish it. Having the students touch their own throats as they produce certain sounds will help them actually feel the difference between a voiced and an unvoiced sound. A more hands-on approach will make students understand more clearly.
