To begin there are numerous levels of any given language. There are also students that range from young to older in age, and with that comes different 'pros' & 'cons'. Each age level comes with a set of challenges that the teacher must become aware of and learn how to overcome so that the student is put in the best classroom to learn. The teacher will decided when it's best to switch the role which include acting as a participant, mentor, model, facilitator, & observer. During the students study they will all have either been or started as a beginner, and through the lessons and practice should advance to the levels (beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, & advanced). During class the teacher will alternate between different roles depending on the lesson & goals intended.
