In unit 13 I learned all about pronunciation and how sounds are produced. I also learned pronunciation is the most neglected form taught and the least confident form for students. Phonetics or phonology deal with sound stress, rhythm, and intonation. I learned about the phonetic alphabet and how words can be spelled as they sound versus how they are actually spelled in the English language. I also learned about several different activities that teachers can utilize to practice and teach pronunciation.
