This is a very interesting Unit because gave me Knowledge concerning the different methodologies used to teach english and which methodology is the best. I have concluded that sometimes all depends on the personality and culture from the students. All the methods have positive and negative points.
ESA was here introduced to me as a methodology that englobes many positive factors and is the methodology of this course. With ESA me as a teacher can motivate, expose and give my students the opportunity to use the language. ESA means Engage, Study and Motivate. ESA is particularly appopriate for trainee and new teachers. This methodology have got several activities components as Elicitation, Pictures, Ask for the question, List, Real objectd (realia) mime, Definitions etc. In this methodology we have some types of lessons as 'Straight Arrow' ESA lesson, 'Boomerang' Esa Lesson, 'Patchwork' ESA lesson, which show the diversity of ESA lessons that a Teacher can use on the classes. In every phase of ESA was given to us many ideas to put in practice in each phase of the lessons. I also have learned on this unit, the importance of giving feedback on my classes - the aim of giving feedback is to encourage self - awareness and improvement. By providing ongoing feedback i will help my students to evaluate their success and progress. Correction Techniques was also a main point on this unit and we learn who corrects, the meaning of self correction and student to student correction as also Teacher to student correction. Was a great and very important Unit.
