In this unit, I have learnt about testing and evaluation . There are number of ways to asses students. These include:
- Tutorials: These can take place with a group or individual students.
- Evaluation by the students : This can be done in a form of a questionnaire or a guided discussion.
- Tests: It is often appropriate to give periodic progress tests on the work covered. There are different kinds of testing;
1-placement test design to place students into the correct class according to language ability.
2-progress test should be used periodically to gauge what level of language has been acquired or remembered.
3-Diagnostic test which is similar to placement test.
4-Practice test design for external examination.
We aslo have general examination such as TOELF, IELTS,TOIEC, and Cambridge assements.
