Unit 4 contains an information how to teach Present tense to the students. It gives an observation of Present time aspects: simple, continuous, perfect, perfect continuous, and coveres forms, usages, and tipical student errors or mistakes of each of the tense aspects.
If I were to briefly give basic characteristicks for each of the aspects of Present tense, I would say that: Present simple tense is used to talk about habitual, routine, everyday actions, e.g. I read a book every evening; Present continues tense is used to talk about the actions, happening at the moment of speaking, e.g. I am reading a book right now; Present perfect tense is used to talk about a completed action as a fact, experience, without any detailes, e.g. I have read the book; Present perfect continues tense is used to talk about an ongoing, incomplete action and to show how long it has continued, e.g. I have been reading a book for the whole day.
The unit also gives a lot of techniques, and ideas for Activate stage, which improve communicative skills of students, and at the same time help students to practice the tenses through the activities. I appreciate those ideas and find them very helpful both for teachers and students.
