Unit 9 gave an explanation about how to write a lesson plan, what to include in it, and why do teachers need lesson plans.
There are many reasons for writing lesson plans: 1) It creates a logic structure of the lesson. 2) It is a document, which you can refer to at any time during the lesson as soon as you forget what is going next. 3) It will record what you have been taught to the students. 4) It will help your substitution to figure out what to teach, or what to review in case you are sick.
The siquence of the lessons include a number of important cretaries: 1) Flexibility - a teacher needs to be flexible to change something about the lesson plan right during the lesson, if it needed. 2) Goals - a teacher should set a goal for students into a sequence of lessons. 3) Revision - a teacher needs to review the previous lessons content. 4) Variety and balance - a teacher should include all skills into the lessons: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Also the unit gives an example of standart lesson plan format and a self- evaluation form, which help to see if something had been done well, or if something needs to get improved.
One of the most important things about writing a lesson plan is to keep it simple, and not script it.
