The unit 12 continued talking about the language skills, particularly productive skills, which are speaking and writing. Writing requires more accuracy, whereas speaking requires fluency, but it is necessary to develop both skills. The teacher must get students interested in speaking and writing. During teaching speaking the teacher should follow 3 stages: controlled activities, guided activities, and creative communication. Also, the teacher first has to provide the accuracy by teaching new language, and make sure the student has understood it, only after that the teacher can check him on an accuracy. The unit gives tips about how to encourage students to talk and how to motivate them to interact to each other.
About writing, the unit informes that there are possible obstacles might be: handwriting, spelling, layout, and punctuation, and how to cope with those. It also gives examples of teaching writing and speaking skills lessons, and povide with the links to the speaking skill games, wich is very useful and helpful.
