This unit includes discussion around how the teacher presents themselves, teacher talk time, ways to group students, how to arrange the class, providing individual attention, developing rapport, discipline, and giving instructions. This unit reminds me to be aware of my presentation and how I address the students. If I show them respect and conduct myself professionally students are more likely to respond with respect and follow class rules. Therefore, there well be less time spent indiscipline and more on teaching. The unit also provides guidance on how students working together and the class environment can create a productive learning space. Seating and pairing of students has several benefits. Seating so students can see each other and the teacher prompts communication and makes engaging easier. Pairing and group work encourages communication among peers and creates class cohesion.
