My reflection of unit 4 present tense was very interesting. I have learned the different present tense such as simple tense, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. I must admit that even though I am a native English speaker I did not fully understand present tense until I completed this unit. I now have a better understanding of present tense which will helps me to use when teaching English to the non-native speaker of English.
I can now teach English in a fun a fun way using my ESA teaching method when teaching present tense, for example, I can teach present tense by engaging students by playing game such as mime or asking student to find out about the person beside them what they like, what they do on daily basis etc. I can get them into the study stage of the present tense lesson by looking at each errors students made in the engaging such are they use each tense and also explaining and giving examples of each tense, which will help students to have a better understanding of each present tense. After which will I give each student a worksheet to complete to test their understanding of the present tense. Finally, in the activate stage students can do a role play by using each present tense correctly.
