I am a native speaker, but there are many parts of speech I did not fully understand until I did this unit. I have learned about countable and uncountable nouns and I now have a better understanding of when to use “an” only when there is a vowel sound you use “an”, if you are talking about a non-specific thing or place you use “an o an”, however, if you are speaking of a specific thing you use “the”, for example, the red book is on the table. I use to get confused with Adjectives and Adverbs I now understand that adjective describes, modify or give more information about a noun or pronoun, for example, Mary has a big, white bag. Whereas adverb modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb. The adverb tells how (often), where and when, for example, She walks slowly to the shopping mall.
