There are many teaching aids that an EFL teacher can use in the classroom to makes the lesson more interesting and effective. A teacher can use the board to maximum effects, such as always start with a clean board. Having different sections for vocabulary and grammar are very efficient and effective way on having the maximum effect of board-work. Another useful teaching aid is Overhead Projector (OHP); this is very useful as it focuses student’s attention. OHP is very important as it helps teachers to prepare in advance, thus avoiding teachers turning their back on students while doing board work. Visual aids are very useful in the classroom as it often used to illustrate meaning more quickly and effectively than through verbal explanation thus reducing teacher talk time. Another importance of visual aids in the classroom is that it can stimulate discussion and elicit language from students. The worksheet is very important as it can be used for reading and grammar exercises. Another useful teaching aid is the video camera; this is very useful as it helps students during an activity or project.
