This unit introduces grammatical foundations – the main parts of speech (Nouns, Adjectives, Articles, Verbs, Adverbs, Gerunds, Pronouns, and Prepositions & Conjunctions), examining each of them separately and providing sufficient information for an adequate understanding of the material.
Although I was familiar with all parts of speech, I found that I had forgotten many important grammar rules and details, so necessary for the correct language. The content of this unit helped me brush up on general knowledge of covered subjects, especially regarding articles and prepositions and shed light on some facts that were new to me. A careful sequence of parts of speech considered in the unit (as well as relevant examples) helps to follow the grammatical chain and assimilate information with a better understanding.
In addition, it was useful for me to see the examples of difficulties/confusions in certain areas that students encounter when learning English, as they give ideas about a particular teaching approach, given that such topics may require careful attention.
Grammar is the delicate art of every language and requires constant updating and enrichment of knowledge, and even after considerable teaching experience, we will probably learn a lot about the depth of the language.
