The focus of this unit was on teaching the essentials of pronunciation and phonology. Pronunciation is the way a word is pronounced, whereas phonology is the stress, rhythm, and intonation of language sounds. Next intonation and stress teaching techniques were covered. Physical articulation from speech organs and the sounds they create was then explained, followed by teaching techniques for the pronunciation of individual sounds. I learned that there are far more parts of the body at play in producing language sounds than I had previously thought.
