The system and stucture of past tenses:
1.past simple, it is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past.The form as: subject + verb+ed.( e.g.I met him yesterday./ I didn't work./ Did you work?.)past simple is easy , pay attension on irregular verbs.
2.Past continuous, express an action which began before that time and probably continued after it. The form as : subject + was/were + verb+ing. (e.g.I was eating when he arrived.)
3.past perfect, the past eqivalent of the present perfect. The form as: subject + had + past participle.(e.g.: She was upset because Kim hadn't called.)
4.Past perfect continuous, to talk about an action in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment that we are thinking about. Form as: subject + had + been + verb + ing. (e.g.Before eating lunch, she had been clipping her toenails for two hours.)
