In this unit I learned criterias to consider when selecting vocabulary which includes the appropriacy to the students,appropriacy to the task,frequency and coverage and the teachability of such chosen vocabulary. I also learned the importance of what the students need to know about the vocabulary which includes it's meaning, usage,word grammar,interaction,spelling and pronunciation. Techniques for vocabulary teaching also plays a vital role to become an effective teacher and for the students to absorb the language effectively. These techniques includes firstly the straight arrow type of lesson which structures the engage,study and activate phase. Boomerang type of lesson is the second technique that structures the engage,activate,study and activate and last but not the least is the patchwork structure which includes engage,activate,structure,activate,study and activate.
