In this unite I’ve learned basics about pronunciation and phonology as well as good methods to teach those. The unit describes stress, rhythm and intonation of an English sentence, and how to use them naturally. Next, the unit introduces phonemic alphabet and explains the importance of it for both, students and teachers. There are four types of phonemic symbols: voiced consonants, unvoiced consonants, vowels and diphthongs. Next, the unit shows us speech organs and explains correct articulation. Finally, the unit describes teaching techniques for the pronunciation. These are peer dictation, your own mouth, visuals, phonemes and tongue twisters.
