I am excited to finish the Units. Now I can build a lesson using the Engage – Study – Activate model that I am studying. Unit 20 is about common sense instead of revealing new information. During my experience teaching Thai students English this year I learned that as much as I tried to use only English for instructions I would end up using stronger students to explain to the rest of the class. Also this year, I learned that in the Thai culture most of the students act like reluctant learners. They will excel at “copying” and choral drilling but rarely speak out individually.
