Unit 14 focuses on the topic of coursebooks and lesson materials. When facilitating a class, the degree to which a coursebook is used is something to consider. The teacher must decide if the class should follow the textbook through its progression, refer to a portion of the textbook, or omit the textbook altogether. Logically, textbooks are written so that the general information is presented in a natural sequence, but not all classes will be in the same place academically or intellectually. With this in mind, a teacher will need to make decisions on what information is presented based on what the class needs.
