This unit describes some of the grammar rules of English with varying difficulty levels. Early to intermediate students might be able to pick up on the passive voice easily, as it simply changes words and their order to express an idea that can be more easily conveyed. The modal auxiliary verbs, while they have very many uses to memorize, can be summed up rather neatly in a chart detailing when and how to use them. The phrasal verbs will likely prove much more of a challenge to students, as they combine words in a not entirely intuitive way to take on a new meaning, in three different styles as well. The mechanics of this will likely be saved for higher level classes, with lower level classes simply memorizing some phrases and their context.
