This units focuses on lesson planning and gives an example of a filled out lesson plan. It is important to prepare and draft a plan before the lesson, but teacher needs to stay and all times flexible. The lesson plan helps to conduct a lesson, make sure that the goals have been achieved, it is also a good way of keeping track of what has been taught to the students. However, it should not be treated as a rigid and fixed lesson scenario.
While preparing a lesson plan the teacher needs to bear in mind that some of the activities may take longer or shorter than expected. It is helpful, especially for inexperienced teachers, to prepare some backup activities in case all planned activities have been completed before the end of the lesson.
