In this unit, I reviewed the teaching receptive skills which are reading and listening. This unit explains the reasons for reading and listening, what problems with listening and reading are, gives basic keys to successful receptive skill lessons. It's also important to provide a variety of topics to ensure that all the students are equally catered for in the end. Teacher also should give authentic texts in order to give the students confidence in their skills while non-authentic texts allow students access to material that contains language more suited to the students' abilities.
