I learned that pronunciation is very important, but very neglected when teaching english. A good teacher should try to incorporate pronunciation as much as possible because it reflects reactions to different situations. I can see how it would be challenging to both teach and learn this subject, and how people lack the confidence to do so. I never really thought about phonology when teaching and learning english. The study of sounds can really help learn a language as it helps students learn pronunciation. I learned about the stress in words and how it can change the meaning of a sentence completely. There are many things this unit helped me realize when teaching, but I honestly found this unit challenging and a little hard to follow. I'm glad I have this resource to help me in the future.
