I feel like the productive skills of speaking and writing are equally important as the receptive skills of reading and listening, and also a bit more challenging. I think this because when you are speaking and writing, you are putting it all out there without anything to refer to. I can see how writing can be put aside sometimes, because it's less interesting and students may want to be able to speak more than write correctly. It's important to encourage the students to want to write and to create a comfortable environment where they don't worry about making mistakes. It's also important to realize the reasons for wanting to communicate and to make the topics interesting. I loved the references for games and again the ESA examples in this unit.
