Zemple, Minnesota TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
Unit 12 focused on output - speaking and writing. It outlined the differences between the two and the pros and cons of each. For instance errors made while speaking usually can be cleared up immediately, while with writing if the reader totally misunderstands it can lead to confusion and problems.
The unit talked about speaking activities and their uses. It discussed some problems and gave some examples of how to avoid or fix the problems.
In terms of writing skills it showed that while each person’s handwriting might be different it’s still important that students’ writing is legible. Handwriting, spelling and punctuation marks are all integral parts of developing writing skills.
I though the unit was quite thorough and gave good examples of lesson plans and how best to achieve our goals. It is important that we set goals and be organized and prepared for these lessons.
