This unit delves into the teaching of new language vocabulary and grammatical structures. I have learned that when teaching vocabulary a teacher must take into account the appropriacy for the student/task, the frequency of usage, and the teachability of the vocabulary to the language level of the student. When introducing grammatical structures it is important that a teacher communicate the meaning of the structure, it’s usage, as well as, the different forms and patterns. What I learned is that it is also important for the teacher to introduce the differences between written and spoken pronunciation.
