lesson planning is important in the sense that it will serve as a pathway for a lesson, not so stringent but one that is likely and intended to end up somewhere regardless of the distractions and detours that may arise. it is there to serve as a record and lesson planning should be filed and can later on be referred to. a lesson plan should have outcomes and the teacher at the end of every lesson should evaluate the progress of the lesson, have the students captured and mastered the content or skill? if not then the teacher should make notes on the side of what was a stumbling block and later on revisit it for revision. lesson planning should have a time duration indicated and the lesson plan goes through different phases, engage, study and activate.
