Sometimes when we talk about successful students we tend to forget about some of the things that are involved in this success. One of these things is the teacher. A good teacher always tries to work on the best for the students, to motivate, to help, to encourage, to exchange knowledge, to be someone who the students can trust and someone who sees them as a potential. Also, a good teacher will know what best works for the class whatever role to be chosen. Some roles can be more appropriate for one class or even for a student than another. The teacher’s job is to guide the class in a way that the students achieve the tasks and expectations. On the other side, students also have a big responsibility for their own success.
Factors such as age, if the students had English classes before or even if they never had none, culture and behavior, their level of nervousness and motivation may or may not contribute to their learning process, but this does not necessarily mean that the students will not succeed.
Students can be sorted by 5 different levels, they are classified in: beginners, elementary, low/pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced according to their language knowledge. This may vary in different countries.
