I learned that when it comes to teaching grammar, vocabulary and functions; a major part of a students progress in learning language will be to utilise the information they are receiving in theory and put it into practise. I understand lessons can be a mix of all three focal points, but it is ideal to focus on one at a time. I also understand that the ESA methods are easily incorporated to structure a lesson via the straight arrow, patchwork or boomerang method.
