Staples, Minnesota TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
From this unit, I learned that past tense can have irregular verbs and that "-ed" doesn't always applied to words that described past actions. Certain word usage requires a change in the word to have a complete meaning. For example, the verb "buy," must be used as "bought" because it's an irregular verb. We simply don't usage "buyed' because it's grammatically wrong. I learned that past continuous sentence expresses an action that began at a certain time and is continues after that. Unlike past perfect continuous, where an action took place, but we don't know whether or not it continued after that. Lastly, past perfect expresses the notion that specific actions occurred before other actions in the past; A past viewed from another past viewpoint as stated in the slides. Past tense is used to transcribe the idea of something that happened before, something that happened and is still happening, something that happened during the time it happened and something that happened, but we don't know if it ended or not.
