This unit reviewed the basic parts of speech by breaking down grammatical points and sentence structure. It provided the logical reasoning behind each part of speech and followed with an example. Although English speakers use all of these words/sentences daily, we may not understand its grammatical structure. The unit began with simple ideas such as nouns and pronouns then transitioned to more complex points like prepositions. Based on the unit and the task sheet, I understand how grammar points should be introduced and explained to a non-speaker that is logical and digestible. Thinking of my own lessons, I would introduce grammar points essentially in the same order but of course, modify according to class level. Showcasing my American culture through personal, real life examples would also benefit my students.
