The roles of both teachers and students is complex and varies based on students' age group, the material being taught, and others. The teacher is not simply regurgitating information at students but engages with the material in a relevant way for student comprehension. Teachers face challenges in the classroom since language learning is difficult, and a teacher must be sensitive to the students' needs. Learners come from unique backgrounds, and their classroom experience depends on age, language skill, and motivation. Therefore, a teacher must tailor his/her teaching methods for maximum effectiveness. I found this unit extremely helpful because of the list format. Breaking down the teacher/student roles and language levels gave me a firm image of class structure and maintenance. Most notably, the Organizer + language level sections made me consider what kinds of activities are appropriate for each age group. I am glad to be brainstorm like this in the first unit, keeping in mind my core responsibilities as the teacher.
