Unit 7 'teaching new language" is the continuity of Unit 3 "theories, methods and techniques". In the former unit, we saw the different methods and the one that seemed the most appropriate for a new teacher to follow. In this present unit, we took into consideration that students need to be exposed to a new language and understand it so as to practise and finally be able to use it. So based on the ESA method, we see how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions. A different example is given every time as well as some ideas to be able to reflect on it and make our own program (through the task sheet). Sometimes, it seems rather complicated to separate language and grammar or function as a student always learn something new and it is the teacher's job to make his/her objective quite clear when building the lesson, or even to choose the most appropriate activities so that the lesson is "clear" (meaning it has a precise final goal).
