From this unit, I've learned that there are multiple ways to help students learn a new language. Understanding vocabulary, grammar and functions are the key points to help students divulge themselves in a new language. Grammar acts as the foundation that holds the understanding together, while vocabulary and functions are the blossoming ideas from that foundation. A tree isn't completely without it leaves and branches. When being exposed to a new language, students must be able to be exposed to it, understand its meaning, knowing how it's constructed and able to produce it. Students must be able to understand the concept of the language before they start using it in writing and speaking. Vocabulary helps students know how word to use and grammar will assist students on how to bring words together. There are activities that can help students learn and excel in learning a new language such as: crossword puzzles, debate and role playing. ESA plays a big part in helping students learn because each activity will lay out the foundation to understand the next concept.
