This unit was about all four forms of the present tense with some very interesting examples of activate teaching ideas. Overall, this is the easiest tense to understand but it is important to remember that for foreigners it can still be confusing, especially with the various exceptions to meanings. For example, “I’ve been to Thailand” and “I’ve gone to Thailand” have slightly different definitions.
It will be particularly interesting for me to remember that tenses will be very new to most people I will be teaching as I currently live in Asia. As the unit describes, many Asian languages to do not have tenses in the way that we do in the West. However, the key takeaway from this unit for me was the reminder of the rules and description of usages that I take for granted but that I will need to be able to explain to others.
