Contrast between the two video presentations as opposed to effective and ineffective teaching and their basic differences.
In the first video presentation, the teacher displays a poor mannerism as he did not introduce himself to the students. He started teaching immediately without any engage phase.
The students were unable to understand the lessons as they were not given a clear explanation of what the lesson was about. Therefore, the students had difficulty understanding the lesson. When the teacher realised that the students were unable to answer the questions, he reacted incompetently by continuing asking more questions and caused confusion in the class.
In video 2 presentation, the students participated more effectively than in the first lesson. The teacher has a positive and engaging attitude when presenting the lesson. The students were more involved and responded well with a high level of participation.
The teacher also builds a good rapport with the students by learning their names and involves all the students in the lesson. The students felt more comfortable in the second lesson, were more exuberant and keener to participate in the class activities as the teacher articulated a smiling gesture while uses a simple Straight Arrow ESA method of teaching the students.
