This unit was about teaching different groups of English learners. Various groups include: beginning students, students learning English for a specific purpose, adult learners, young learners and students whose L1 is not based on Roman letters. It is helpful for the teacher to be aware of certain strategies that work with different groups. An example would be that for young learners, it is helpful as things come up to be willing to make fun of one's self and use lots of communicative games. On the other hand, for business English, it is important to be professional and even do a Needs Analysis to know what they use English for and where they need to improve.
My eyes were opened to students who are learning English for Business reasons. I found it helpful that the unit gave a basic approach to planning a course. While, my experience has been primarily with children, I think it would be interested to learn more about Business English and even the interest here in Burundi (a small African country near Rwanda).
