In this unit we went over the past tenses of the English language and the usage of each. The past simple is used to talk about pas actions with a given time, meaning, that actions have a definite ending. The past simple can also be used to respond to questions asking for time. The past continuous is used to indicate gradual development in the past or interrupted past actions. It cal also express an action that occurred before something else but likely continued after it. The past perfect is the equivalent of the past perfect and is used to refer to actions that occurred befoer other actions in the past. Lastly, the pas perfect continuous which is used of longer actions in the past that had been happening continuously up to the moment we are talking about.
