I can see where this would be more of a challenge if you have a class of different levels. In Spain I had a class of highschoolers, different ages and really different language levels. I had one who was quite fluent as her family visited the United States occasionally, all the way down to one student who could barely speak a word. Not having any real training at that time, I was frequently frustrated in trying to prepare lessons to encompass all the levels. I used songs and work sheets a lot and worked mostly on them understanding the words and pronunciation. One and a half hours once a week, is difficult to make any progress.
