This unit focuses on the practical aspect of lesson planning and how much the general attitude of the teacher influences the students and the lesson. This unit gives us 2 videos of the same teacher, in the same classroom going over the same content.The difference is that in the first video the teacher makes a lot of very basic mistakes. In the first video the teacher has an almost disrespectful attitude towards the students, talks fast, assumes that the students know the content already, is very bad at establishing rapport, spends too much time writing on the board, etc. In the second video the teacher has a positive attitude, elicits answers effectively, has good body language and uses flashcards. The students go from being very confused and intimidated in the first lesson, to being eager to learn, responsive and overall enjoying the lesson. This unit helped me visualize how important the teacher's attitude can be and how much it influences the students.
