I have learnt from this unit that although it is recommended that the format of engage study and activate is the preferred choice of method for teaching students, it is possible to be flexible with the format and not to be to rigid in the order of study and the content of each phase. For instance, the three phases could overlap at some stage of a lesson depending on how the lesson is proceeding and the progress and attention of the students. If the students perceive a definite line between each phase, they could become concerned that they are abruptly moving on to something else before they are comfortable with the dialogue or vocabulary they are engaged with.
