Unit 11 is about teaching receptive skills, which consist in reading and listening. As the text says, the listening skills are more difficult to learn that the listening, as students cannot have a text in front of them to refer to. The activities should be suited to the level of the students so that they provide some degree of challenge but they're not too hard. Pre-teaching some of the vocabulary that might create problems with the understanding might also help.
