The unit first covered how to write a lesson plan down (keep it simple, do not try to script everything, keep consistent structure, determine proper time for lesson activities, ensure flexibility). The lesson continued by describing tips to take into consideration prior to beginning a lesson (have lesson plan in possession, go through lesson plan yourself, make sure equipment works, have materials and teaching aids laid out, arrange student seating as desired, clean board, chat with students as they arrive). The unit discussed what content should be included in a lesson plan (up to individual teacher, but try to base it on learner objectives and personal aims, language point - lesson theme, teaching aids, anticipated student problems, procedure, phase, timing, interaction [who is interacting? Teacher - student, student - student], class level, number of students, date/time [keep record of content covered and when], and teacher and observer names). Finally the unit provided an example of a lesson plan, discussed self evaluation and provided an example form for reference, and briefly went over planning a sequence of lessons.
