Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit first helped to understand the importance and uses of eye contact, gestures, and voice in the classroom as well as the different types of groupings (Whole-class, individual, pair work, and group work) as well as their pros and cons. Next the unit went over determinants for how to arrange a particular class (space available, chair and table type, age of students, nationality, and personality) as well as the differing types of classroom arrangements (orderly rows, circles and horseshoes, separate tables) and proper positioning and movement of the teacher during lesson stages. The unit covered writing on the board and how to reduce time having to have back turned away from students, giving individual attention to students in a proper way without ignoring needs of entire class, and the advantages and disadvantages of teacher talk time as well as avoiding unnecessary teacher talk time. Then the unit discussed the method of giving proper instructions (using simple language, being consistent, using visual cues, checking instructions with students) as well as how to go about establishing rapport between the teacher and the students (letting students correct each other, giving clear instructions, not letting an individual student or yourself as the teacher dominate the classroom experience). Finally the unit covered the methodologies of maintaining discipline in the classroom, taking things into consideration such as the age and motivation of students, class size, school disciplinary rules, and level of established rapport between the teacher and the students. This section then covered aspects of discipline such as identifying reasons for problem behaviors, problem behavior prevention, and responding to problem behavior from students. Overall this unit has equipped me with a large source of material to draw from for properly and effectively managing a classroom to ensure an organized and proper learning environment.
