This unit has taught me that the role of the teacher is a very complex one. For instance I think that many of the roles of the teacher described in the unit are interchangeable and can overlap, depending on the different natures and motivations of each individual in a class. although a whole class maybe studying at a particular level, there will be slower learners and quicker learners. The teacher must then recognise and apply different motivating and learning techniques to keep every student happy and keen to learn, for instance the teacher may wish to become more involved in certain activities with slower students to give encouragement and confidence, while quicker students may well be motivated by a confidence that the teacher thinks they are capable of doing some activities alone
