This unit we learned more about modal auxilliary verbs such as may, might, must, should, can, and etc. These modal auxilliary verbs are used to express obligations, possibility, permission, ability, and suggestions. Each have their own uses and slight differences such might have less certainty than may in certain situations. This unit also includes active and passive voice, where passive voice focuses more on the action than the subject and only transitive verbs can be used with passive voice. The unit includes a table of passive voice forms with many tenses and it seems like all passive voice includes a past participle. There are 2 types of relative clauses and each are introduced by a relative pronoun (who, which, that, etc). Simply put, the defining relative clause does not include commas, and non- defining relative clause uses comas because the information within the coma is not necessary. The last part of the unit is about phrasal verbs it seems like a fun way to use English. The rules attached to phrasal verbs and how to differentiate them between intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable can be confusing. It seems like a better idea to just teach and sneak in phrasal verb every now and then and let the students absorb it steadily.
