There is a difference between learning L1 and L2, as L1 is learnt through total immersion and L2 draws on the learning experiences of L1. Older learners learn more consciously than the younger learners. For students aged from 5 to 9 years old the lessons should be organized in a way to have more repetition, drilling, physical activity, while for those of 9 to 13 years old, the lessons should be structured as ESA, to allow students more interaction and communication. The first group doesn't like instructions, being static or quiet, while the send one dislikes structure, singing, presenting in front of the class, being embarrassed. The activities will be longer for the second group.
