This unit explains the different roles of teachers in class, such as manager, assessor, organizer, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model and monitor. After these concepts, the attention moves on to learners, divided by age groups as follows: adults in a unique group and children in age groups (2 to 7 years, 7 to 13 years, 13 to 18 years) with each group differing in terms of experience, movitation and attitude to learn. Finally different levels of English learning, from beginners to advanced, are presented and an overview of the Common European Framework is given. From this unit I learnt how to act in different situations in class and deal better with different age groups in the light of the differences between them here presented, as well as distinguishing the various stages of learning and motivating students in each level.
