I have learnt that productive skills refer to speaking and writing,(receptive to reading and listening) We speak to each other for a need and for desire. Accuracy relates to - Correct usage of grammar. And fluency is the ability to speak without having to stop. In a lesson plan accuracy is more suited in the study phase and fluency in the activate stage. Speaking activities come in different forms but can be generalised into- Controlled: used in study phase for accuracy. Guided activities: used in either study or activate phase, they allow for more creativity and productivity, although the outcome is controlled by the teacher the exact language isn't. Creative activity: has a small amount of structure and is used in activate phase. With writing skills we look at handwriting skills. Spelling and different ways of pronouncing the same letters or combination of letters. and pronunciation: Situational- postcards verses a formal letter or an email etc. And Creative - stories, dialogues and poetry. Learnt the importance of games when teaching these skills and remaining open and friendly
