In this lesson, I learned about teaching vocabulary, grammar, and functions. Each part involves the engage, study and activate. For each part, the instructor will begin with engaging the students, which could involve using pictures, mimes, and other similar activities. Then, the teacher will use the study phase, which involves drilling, word fill-ins, and others. Finally, the teacher will use the engage phase, which involves debates, role-play, and others. Teaching vocabulary depends on the spelling, pronunciation, and how similar it is to the students’ native language. Grammar depends on the meaning and usage. Language functions involves inviting, refusing, agreeing, etc.
